People all over the world have found improvement in their daily lives through the practice of meditation. It's the practice of training your focus and awareness in the present moment. That might be your breath, your thoughts, your senses, your bodily movements, etc. These are things we do sometimes anyway, but actively practicing them teaches us to do so intentionally and mindfully.

When we take a look at the various explanations of meditation, one thing we often see is that meditation is defined as taking a moment to sit quietly or to ponder. True meditation, however is much more than this. It is a state of profound, deep peace that occurs when the mind is calm and silent, yet completely alert. This is just the beginning of an inner transformation that takes us to a higher level of awareness. This enables us to fulfil our true human potential.

Thoughtless Awareness

If one closely examines the authentic tradition of meditation it is apparent that meditation is a discrete and well defined experience of a state called ‘thoughtless awareness’. This is a state in which the excessive and stress producing activity of the mind is neutralised without reducing alertness and effectiveness.

Authentic meditation enables one to focus on the ‘present moment’ rather than dwell on the unchangeable past or undetermined future. It is this state of equipoise that is said to be therapeutic both psychologically and physically and which fundamentally distinguishes meditation from simple relaxation, physical rest or sleep.

Benefits of Meditation

Meditation has been developed in Eastern cultures and has a documented history of more than several thousand years. Eastern meditative techniques have been developed, trialed and refined over hundreds of generations with the specific intention of developing a method by which anyone can regularly attain a state of mental peace and tranquillity, i.e. relief from stress. It is a strategy that has been progressively adopted by a large number of clinicians (cardiologists, psychologists etc.) and their patients in the West. Meditation is seen by a number of scientific researchers as potentially one of the most effective forms of stress reduction.

What You’ll Learn

In our program you’ll explore what meditation is and is not, and how it can still your inner dialogue, help you to get in touch with your emotions and handle negative thoughts and behaviours with positivity and efficiently. You’ll discover all the ways meditating can benefit you. The course covers the physical benefits such as decreasing muscle tension and reducing anxiety, psychological benefits like building self-confidence and increasing productivity, and even the benefits to spiritual development such as increased awareness and a deeper understanding of the self.

With a focus on helping you to monitor, understand and properly process your thoughts and feelings, meditation crosses over into the practice of mindfulness. Our Meditation Program explores this relationship and how you can use both to balance your mind and live a life of positivity. Of course, you will be guided through the practical aspects of how to meditate, what you can do to prepare to meditate, and how to start the practice and develop it depending on your needs and goals. In addition to opening you up to the benefits, principles, and practices of a
variety of meditation types.

Private Sessions

Private sessions are an amazing way of learning and implementing meditation as a regular practice as the program will be designed according to your needs. Also, any difficulties or challenges can be quickly recognised and resolved.

The personal practice is designed for you is based on your interests, learning style, schedule and especially your strengths. From the vast array of available techniques, your coach will choose the one for you that you are more likely to enjoy and stay motivated. This doesn’t mean that meditation will always be smooth sailing. Sometimes, as you go deeper you may confront difficult issues from your life. I will be available to help you negotiate your way through during the whole program.

The programs available are designed to provide different levels of support from jump starting your practice to a 8 weeks program where you’ll have the opportunity to dive deep within yourself. In these programs we meet once a week for 1:30 hour and you’ll receive pdfs with the material and scripts of the techniques we are exploring along the course. I’m also available during the whole course to support you via messages, emails and phone calls in case you need any clarification and/or are facing any challenge with your practice.
